Streeterville prices rose even as inventory fell
The big fact for Streeterville owners: prices moved up, not sideways. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 416 homes for sale in ZIP 60611 in the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is down 17.1% from the same months in 2025. Fewer choices tend to hold prices up, and that is what happened here.
The Real Estate Data Aggregator put the Streeterville median sale price at $465,000, up 7.5% from a year earlier. The Federal Housing Finance Agency reported U.S. prices rose 2.6% over the same stretch. Streeterville ran nearly three times that pace.
For buyers, the shrinking supply matters. The Real Estate Data Aggregator showed 3.4 months of supply in ZIP 60611, down 0.6 months from a year ago. That is a market where waiting for more options may not pay off.
Homes are moving faster
The Real Estate Data Aggregator found the median days on market dropped to 61 days, 14 days shorter than the same period a year ago. That is a meaningful shift. Buyers who found the right unit did not sit on it.
The Real Estate Data Aggregator also found that 27.3% of homes went under contract within two weeks of listing, up 2.6 points from a year earlier. Nearly 3 in 10 units were gone before many buyers even scheduled a second look.
Above-list sales ticked up
The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 20.5% of Streeterville homes selling above list price, up 3.1 points from a year ago. The average sale-to-list ratio held at 98%, unchanged from last year. Most homes still sold at or just under list, but the share pushing above it grew.
The national rate picture
Rates are a real factor for buyers right now. Realtor.com reported mortgage rates surged above 7% for the first time since January 2025. Fannie Mae, as reported by CNBC on October 14, 2026, forecast the 30-year fixed rate at 7.4% for the fourth quarter of 2026. Higher rates slow buyers down nationally.
Nationally, Realtor.com reported that 20.8% of listings took price cuts in September 2026, the highest share since October 2022. Streeterville did not follow that pattern. Prices here went up, not down.
